Welcome back boys and girls to the conclusion to the good guide to Good. I realize that some of the Good tournaments have already come to pass, (included one that I have participated in), but there are still plenty more to be had, and being in one allows me to put forward first hand experience of the tournaments to you guys.
Anyway, today, I'll be covering the various characters you'll be likely to encounter and I'll give an example of a cheap and easy deck to build and play if you're stuck for ideas: Talim. On with the show! :D
With these characters, I'll be segmenting them into 3 sections: Aggro, Control, and um... Different :P. There will be ones you'll come to expect, but I imagine you'll have a few surprises in there too :)
AGGRO:
Within the Aggro line of characters, there are a couple that stand out before anybody else. Those two are Talim:. and the new Felicia::

These two are both capable of similar things, as in they are more than likely to be packing horrendous Multiple attacks (Rolling Storm for Talim, Feline Spike for Felicia) In Felicia's case, packing Holding Ground against her can severly harm her, although she may be ignoring the fact that she's gaining all that momentum and could just be emptying her card pool for that reason, although it's very doubtful that her momentum is just going to sit there. One card that messes them both up is a card a went on and on about in the last article (with good reason): Crippling Strike. This is especially dangerous to Felicia as by stopping her from gaining the momentum she expects to get, she's leaving her card pool full of cards she didn't want too. It's only useful against Talim, as is anything that stops her gaining 5 momentum for that Rolling Storm. Funnily enough, I played Talim for the tournament I was in and came second to Felicia. Having Felicia throw not 1, not 2, but 3 Feline Spikes at you STINGS (Damn Talim letting Felicia get away with having her effect as well!)
Other characters you might find going Aggro in Good include Maxi, Nagase:, and Yi Shan *still shudders at Shadowar*
CONTROL:
In control, there is one character everyone loves to hate. The little girl with the hawk; Nakoruru.
Now this little vixen plays havoc in major tournaments regardless of which resource she's played off. Playing against her in a meta where there's no Absurd Strength or Way Of The Mightiest to make her wince at her own handsize could end up being like bashing your head against the wall with the support I listed in the last article. But fear not, for Red Lotus Of The Sun does have Good, so you can at least cancel out her R with that. Generally, if you see Nakoruru, you are very unlikely to be able to out-control her. Therefore, you'll have to change your tactics slightly and try to aggro away that tiny vitality of hers. If you're lucky, 1 Feline Spike could eliminate her quickly (so long as you can kill off the Holding Grounds) She's not as strong on Good as she is on Death, but she's still a menace to watch out for.
There aren't as many characters who can successfully control as there are characters who can blow out attacks, but there are a few; namely Yoshitora:., Abyss:, Donovan., and Miser
DIFFERENT :P :
There are your obvious characters which have been listed above, but there are a couple of 'Dark Horses' worth watching out for (not necessarily because of the characters themselves). Kyo:: can become very playable as a side character against mega controllers due to his super powered Red Lotus Of The Sun. Not only that but once you've gotten the Holding Grounds out of the way, you can play a 125 Rapids of Rage with a big bunch of momentum, drop it all for the Powerful and make the opponent check a 2 on the block against it, which is pretty nasty.
Charlie:: is another (and one that I seriously considered running myself). His abilities on Special Forces Training, Crippling Strike and Air Back breaker are all really quite useful against various different opponents, and Sonic Blade is pretty darn lethal. The character itself can have its uses too. For example, using cards that give both players momentum like N-Type Human and Achieving Your Goals have the added effect of clearing your card pool whilst giving you more momentum toward your Sonic Blade. The fact that you've given your opponnent momentum isn't too bad either, as you can use it to your advantage with Special Forces, or just get rid of it with Air Backbreaker.
Mill, surprisingly is possible in Good. It's not the easiest thing to do, but then, since when has it ever been? There are 3 characters who can potentially do it, but to me, one of them stands out more than the other 2. They are booster Seong Mi-na and the promos Morrigan and Lilth. Seong Mi-Na seems to be more powerful than the other two to me, because she can drop her hand to remove a few cards upon an attack being played, and then Antisocial back up to the number of cards that were in her hand when the attack was played. Mi-Na Frankensteiner's also pretty vicious while she's at it :D
As promised, here is a cheap costing, but effective deck build for Promo Talim :)
Attacks x 16
Rolling Storm x 4
Turning Kali Strikes x 4
Flowing Gale Hook x 4
Ichi No Tachi/Rolling Buckler Uppercut x 4
Actions and Assets x 7
One Armed Maneuvers/Feline Ferocity x 3
Tiger Style x 2
Genhanten x 2
Foundations x 37
N-Type Human x 4
Achieving Your Goals x 4
Savage Fighter x 4
Holding Ground x 4
Not The Strongest x 3
Battle Disc System x 4
Born To Hunt x 3
Once A Student, Now A Soldier x 3
Nine Lives x 3
Spiritual Center x 2
The Sword That Protects x 3
The idea of this deck is to belt out as many attacks as possible as quickly as possible. The only rare in the deck at all is Genhanten, which while being a very solid card within this deck (think Rolling Storm, Genhanten E, OASNAS E or another Rolling Storm), they aren't all that sought after. You'll have plenty of split cards in Not The Strongest and Tiger Style to bump up the no. of attacks in the deck (and the usefulness of BDS). There's also plenty of damage mitigation in the deck without there being so much that it defeats the point of the deck.
Thats all for Good now, as I imagine by the time I write another article on it, most people will have already had their tournaments :P So, until next time ;)
