11000-mitsurugi_smallAll right UFS players the time has come to see the previews from set 10 and finally the long awaited return of Soul Caliber. Especially with the release of Soul Caliber 4 set 10 coming out in September is perfect. All right so today we talk about one of my players favorite characters Mitsurugi. I remember when I first started playing UFS getting hit with a Phoenix Tail and double Penetrating Lunge was not too fun. So on to the here and now we have *******Mitsurugi *******. So stat wise he is a six-hand size and has 30 Vitality so far so good. Next his resources are All, Fire, and Chaos quite nice I remember before generating momentum with the old Mitsurugi was very important.

Now lets talk about abilities. His first ability is "E: Your attack of 3 damage or less gets plus 2 damage." So all right this is basically a new version of all the old K' support of pumping low damage attacks. He has Chaos so he has access to those K' attacks as well as a huge one in Flying Cross Chop. At 3 difficulty Enhance with Mitsurugi then with cross chop make it come for 7. I am sure all you chaos players are wishing Elelyu Kamui Risse was still legal.

Now for his other ability "F discard 2 momentum: If you have dealt damage to your opponent this turn, gain 3 vitality. If you no longer have any momentum commit this card." With being 30 vitality and having the Chaos resource I can see the potential he may have to give aggro decks a hard time. Having cards like Lord of the Maki and Whereabouts Unknown he shouldn't have too much trouble generating the momentum needed. A Key factor with his form is he is able to use it multiple times per turn which might give players the incentive to pack those Tag Along's. Combining that with all the support Chaos received in set 9 I expect to see Mitsurugi at least make a scene locally. So to wrap up life gain and damage pump all in one package is pretty fierce and I can't wait to see the different builds people come up with on the deck building forum.

Thanks,
Scubadude
