This deck was born out of pure intrigue. I was trading just after Cutting Edge came out and saw this card. Visions of people setting on in awe of the beating they just took. And from the play experience with this deck, it gives just that. Sure with a 19 vitality and a 7 hand size death is coming soon one way or another.Character
...Iori...

Here's a explaination for most of the cards.
Shinobi Tradition: For early and late game checks if the RoS combo is locked on
The Merchant's Message: It goes both ways. Perfect for given Iori the momentum for the check control or on the other hand foder for the RoS combo
Girl Dancing with the Devil: MOMENTUM COMTROL!!!!!!!!!!! and food for Iori abilities
Akuma's Shoryureppa + Double Snap Kick + the Street Life= Death to your oppenent.
I've gotten the Double Snap Kick to a 2m for 35 with my oppenent completely committed and hand locked with the Bitter Rivals

on top of that, if you are going to play iori, the first promo iori is infinitely better, cost free damage pump (sure its got a drawback, but there are ways around that)
and -2 to a check is almost nothing, on top of that, it doesn't end your opponents turn, and +3, just isn't enough. you get props for taking a mediocre character and running with it, but when u use a mediocre character, your deck is still mediocre.
on top of that your control curve is off, you play lots of 4 check foundations and 2 check attacks, you tried to compensate with a banned card, and if Ruler wasn't banned this deck might have been ok, but unfortunately, it was.
the promo iori has already been done to death so if you look online you can find a great decklist for you to base your deck off of.
sorry if i come off mean, but your deck will work better if you played a better character.

Why?
Because of the inclusion of one card that's been banned, and for good reason: Ruler of Southtown.
The rest of the line up is cool, but the inclusion of RoS is done either as a joke, or out of ignorance. In either case, it makes this deck unplayable.
