Interview
Michelle Baines
Los
Angeles, California
Michelle
has got to be one of the craziest and unique girls I have talked to in a long
time (and no, it's definitely not a bad thing).
I think she has the kind of sprit that can put you in good mood whether
you're winning or losing in a big event or just having a bad day. The other person I have met in UFS that has
that impact is Omar Chavez (Gouhadou).
When meeting him and team nice head at worlds, within about 5 minutes
this encounter was worth the 3 hour flight from Fort Myers to Gencon. Omar, James, and Fred were all excellent deck
builders and players that had enthusiastic personalities. This was a great experience since out of most
CCG's I have played, the top-level players are often arrogant, and I was
uncomfortable playing with them. On top
of that, their sarcasm and never ending comedy always lightens the tension
before an event. With Omar commenting on how tall I am and busting Vik on anything
from his height or his Indian friend, Dhalsim.
Then James's presence haunting Vik to the point where Vik needs a James
Hata-proof bubble whenever they are around each other. We get the same comedy from Michelle and Mark
on the forums, which is quite priceless.
On top of that, when conducting this interview, Mark would chime in when
I was going through the questions with Michelle, and that distracted her.
Basically it was by far the longest one on one interview of all the girls in
this series. None the less, it was great and I would not change how it was
done. Thanks again Michelle.

Interview
Mary
House
Danville,
Illinois
Mary
House is the other Mary that Audri set up to be interviewed and is also going
to be helping Audri out by being the second scout at their store. If I had to think of a UFS player that
associates with her, she actually reminds me of myself from last summer. Oddly enough, I thought I would never play
UFS when I was big into MTG. We all have
Vik to thank for my switch. Now I am a
scout and dedicated to traveling to big events with Vik. It is the greatest playing with all the
different UFS players in the world. Now
it seems Audri has taken the role that Vik did for me by getting Mary to go on
trips and even help her out with scouting.
Congrats to both of you.

Interview
Mary
McQueen
Danville
Illinois
This
is one of the friends of Audri that she convinced to be interviewed by me. Now
meeting the various UFS pros in the last year I was looking to see if I could
associate each interviewee with a certain UFS player I have meet. Now if we ever had Matt Kohl's type person
who didn't care about winning and was in it for the fun of the game Mary would
take the cake. For those of you who haven't met Matt before he is just about
the most stone cold CCG player you will probably ever meet and I would say Mary
is the female version of Mr. Kohl's.

Interview
Audri
Sampson
Danville
Illinois
This
is my first of the many interviews of the UFS girls that we have been able to
track down. Up first is Audri Samson she is the scout at her store and is a
great influence on her local Meta. She was responsible for getting all the
current girls into UFS as well as various guys at her store. She is also going to be organizing a big
group from her store to journey to Gen Con in 2008. In addition to the great influences in her
city she also got 2 other girls to be interviewed by me for this long series of
articles.
