Congratulations to our new UFS World Champion James Hata, who is also now the newest member of FFG staff. I have to admit, the second statement excites me a lot more than the first for many reasons. First of all, we finally have a member of staff that has a good eye for competitive cards, which should directly translate into a more balanced game. Second, it's gonna be a real pain in the ass to get his staff card off of him. The age old joke about taking candy from babies ends with Mr. Hata, which means we can expect the card to be worth its weight in gold. All joking aside, however, the last month of UFS has left us with more information than analysts, so everyone who hasn't been in on ground zero for the last couple weeks has some serious catching up to do. Hopefully I can cover most of the major points today, and follow up with the predictions for the future in the next article. That said, let's get to it.

On the first night of Gencon for most masses, I had a chance to sit down with Stephen Horvath and ask him a few questions. The following is a hesitation noise and stuttering free version of that conversation! I hope you enjoy it!

Cervantes5 making top 8 at the UFS 2008 World Championship Event at GenCon must be a surprise for many players, but for me I always knew that this character was a beast.  Being the character that had the ability to neutralize potential field hazard and build up momentum with his ability alone, he was the best choice (in my opinion) for countering the most top tier control decks. This article is about how this character has developed within my playgroup and my team's journey to and within GenCon 2008.

Welcome back boys and girls to the conclusion to the good guide to Good. I realize that some of the Good tournaments have already come to pass, (included one that I have participated in), but there are still plenty more to be had, and being in one allows me to put forward first hand experience of the tournaments to you guys.

Anyway, today, I'll be covering the various characters you'll be likely to encounter and I'll give an example of a cheap and easy deck to build and play if you're stuck for ideas: Talim. On with the show! :D
