It’s been a long time since there’s been anything interesting to write about. I have a couple reasons or why this is, but there are more pressing issues at hand. The first wave of major tournaments are rapidly approaching and so is the first wave of speculation and preparation. Desert Wars is our first stop, so first in the order of business is to logically predict the meta and plan accordingly. There’s a lot to cover, set aside some time.

I have a hypothesis. It has to do with our young legacy format, and why no one is playing it. Modern two-day tournaments often have standard and team standard as the main events, with legacy sometimes tacked on as a side event, pretty much as an afterthought. Why don’t we have legacy/standard tournaments, or standard/team legacy?

There are certain concepts in deck design that are not immediately apparent to the beginner or intermediate UFS player. Knowing and applying these concepts is a sure way to achieve success in this game, as is tightening up your play skill. Today, however, I’ll discuss specific methods to increase the potency of your decks, using advanced deck concepts.
